Ingredients

  1. 500g Blédor Pâtissière

  2. 225g Margarine

  3. 1pc Whole Egg

  4. Guava Jam

  5. Red Coloring

  6. 125g Icing sugar

  7. Lemon juice (optional)

 

Preparation

  1. Blend the flour and margarine. Add the egg and mix until the dough is smooth.
  2. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to a thickness of 3 mm and cut out small circles.
  3. Put them on greased trays and brown them very lightly in a hot oven (2000C). Allow them to cool and cover half of the biscuits with jam. Layer with the unfilled cookies.
  4. Dissolve the powdered sugar in 4 to 5 tablespoons of warm water. Add the food coloring and mix to make a batter to be glazed. You can add a few drops of lemon juice to it. Frost the cookies with this dough and let cool before serving.

 

These so typically Mauritian delicacies are traditionally prepared with guava jam. They can be kept for several days in a hermetic box.
